Biography

Dr. Bharat A. Makwana (ORCID: 0000-0003-2429-865X) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry, Bhavanโ€™s Sheth R. A. College of Science, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. He holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry, and a Ph.D. in Supramolecular Chemistry and Nanoscience from the School of Sciences, Gujarat University, Ahmedabad. Dr. Makwana has an illustrious academic and research career marked by several prestigious awards, including the Best Thesis Award (2014, Gujarat Science Academy), Science Laureate Award, Senior Scientist Award (2020, Indian Chemical Society, Kolkata), Excellent Publication Award (Chemical Letters), and Senior Science Laureate Award (2024, WAAH). His research contributions include 5 national patents, 39 highโ€“impact publications (average impact factor 2.5), 2 book chapters (Springer & Elsevier), 12 international books, 2 national books, and the supervision of 27 postgraduate dissertations and 2 Ph.D. scholars. He has successfully undertaken research projects funded by CSIR, UGC, and GUJCOST. A recognized academic expert, Dr. Makwana has delivered invited lectures at various national and international universities and has presented his work in more than 90 conferences. He is a member of several professional societies, including CRSI (LM-1453), Gujarat Science Academy, ACS (USA), Association of Chemistry Teachers (TIFR) LM-2207, National Association of Chemical Safety and Security (NACS, 2023), HKCBEES, and Sidvi Society for Research and Development (LM-24130). He also serves as an editorial and review board member for reputed journals and publishing houses. His research interests span Nanoscience, Supramolecular Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry, through which he continues to make impactful contributions to chemical sciences.
