Biography

Beena Negi is currently an Assistant Professor, in the Department of Chemistry, Gargi College, University of Delhi (UoD). She completed her PhD from University of Delhi in 2012. She has been the recipient of Science Meritorious Award by University of Delhi in 2007, Jeans and Ashit Ganguly Education Scholarship in 2007, University Teaching Assistantship in 2009, by UoD. Her research interests are synthetic medicinal chemistry, molecular docking, heterocyclic chemistry, green chemistry and nano chemistry. She is a recipient of UGC BSR start up research Grant 2016. She has 20 publications in international and national peer reviewed journals with h index 13. She has authored 2 Book chapters and 1 book titled Chemistry of heterocyclic compounds. She was the content writer of 20 modules of e pg pathshala for the papers, Organic chemistry- (Reaction Mechanisms), Organic spectroscopy and Disconnection Approach. She was the deputy coordinator of open book examinations (OBE) committee 2021 of UoD. She has been a member of University of Delhi Brochure - Highlights 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024. She was a member of the committee of courses, Department of chemistry, UoD in 2021. She is a life member of ACT, ISCA, CRSI and ISCB. Through her you tube handle @drbeenanegi she has been promoting green chemistry principles and green synthesis.
